How can we help?
Quick answers below. If they don't cover it, send us a message — we read everything.
What is WE-NEO?
Speedrun leaderboards built exclusively for the Neo Geo AES+. Every board starts empty at console launch, so every record is up for grabs — whether you've been running games for a decade or you're picking up a Neo Geo for the first time.
When do the boards open?
When the console ships. Until then, signing up as a Founding Member reserves your spot: you'll get a permanent Founding badge when the boards go live, and we'll email you the moment they open.
What hardware is eligible?
Real hardware only, and only the Neo Geo AES+ console — not the original AES console. Keeping every run on one console rules out any timing or behavior differences between the old hardware and the new, so records stay comparable. That goes for controllers too — AES+ officially licensed controllers only. No emulators, no FPGAs, no keyboards, no third-party controllers. One standard across the board so nobody's record hinges on hardware variations, quirks, or advantages.
What games are eligible?
For now, the Wave 1 lineup for the Neo Geo AES+— that's where every board starts. As new waves and titles ship, we'll add their boards right alongside them, so the catalog grows as the console does. We don't run the original AES releases: they are too rare, too expensive, and have too many versions. Only the AES+ version counts — eliminating any possible discrepancies. Down the road, homebrew titles may join the boards too — that'll depend on where the community and developers want to take it.
How does verification work?
Every submitted run is reviewed against the published rules for its game before it appears on a board. The full standard is on the verification page.
What does Founding Member status get me?
A permanent badge on your profile marking you as one of the first — plus first-in-line access when the boards open. It's free, and the option disappears once the console launches.
